This non-isolated boost module is designed to accept an input voltage ranging from DC 8.5V to 50V and provide a continuously adjustable output voltage between DC 10V to 60V, with a default setting of 19V. The maximum input current is 15A, but it is recommended to enhance heat dissipation if the input current exceeds 8A. The maximum output current is 12A, which is related to the difference between the input and output voltages - the greater the voltage difference, the lower the output current will be. If the output current exceeds 7A, heat dissipation should be improved.
The quiescent current of the module is 10mA, but this will increase when converting from 12V to 20V. The constant current range is 0.5A to 12A, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. If the temperature becomes too high, heat dissipation should be enhanced. The switching frequency is 150kHz, and the maximum conversion efficiency is 96%, which is affected by the input/output voltage, current, and voltage difference.
Over-current protection is built-in, and if the input current exceeds 15A, the module will automatically reduce the output voltage. The output voltage and current can be adjusted using the "CV-ADJ" and "CC-ADJ" potentiometers, respectively. Turning the "CV-ADJ" potentiometer clockwise will reduce the voltage, while turning it counterclockwise will increase the voltage. Turning the "CC-ADJ" potentiometer counterclockwise about 30 turns will minimize the output current before connecting a load, and then turning it clockwise will increase the current, while turning it counterclockwise will reduce the current.
If using the module for battery charging, it is recommended to connect the output after the battery is fully discharged, as the more energy left in the battery, the less charging current will be.
